HOT END GFC (Glass Forma Control)

Artificial vision system in charge of performing the quality control and the necessary correction by oxygen regulation of correction burners in the manufacture of glass ampoules.

Problem solved

In the manufacture of glass ampoules, it is necessary a quality control in different parts of it. These measures must enter into tolerances according to regulations. In addition, not only does it consist of performing a dimensional control, the system also acts on the supply of oxygen in the correction burners, guaranteeing a product rejection less than 0.99%.

Solution

The commitment of SYSVRA in this application was not only to dispose of the product out of tolerances, but to intervene in the ampoule manufacturing process to correct production and thus, reduce the rejected product achieving big savings in raw material. The system captures 4 images per ampoule and processes 6 measures for each image.

The most outstanding features of the HOT END GFC system are:

This machine vision system can operate at a forming machine speed of up to 100 vials per minute.
